Promise Yourself
We'll soon be approaching the end of another year. A time to reflect, a time to stand still to study and learn from the footprints we've left in the past, a time to prepare for the new and unknown steps to be made into the future. With each new step we take doubt and negativity may take hold attempting to hinder our progress but try to move forward with a sense of optimism in your heart.
The Optimist Creed by Christian D Larsen
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.
To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.
A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all :-)
Try to tread gently on your journey. TFxx

I was SURE I'd commented on this. How very rude of me.
Those are beautiful words Miss Tommo, and I hope you had a fantabulous Christmas and that you keep entertaining us with your lovely posts in 2011 (this year in fact, how did that happen?) xx
Hmm.l I just came here to nag you about updating - are you still hungover, TF? - and saw that I hadn't commented on this one. I remember reading it, and loving it, and I know I wished you the compliments of the season ... so what happened to my comment?
Hope you're doing ok, m'dear. x
Thanks for your wee little comments everyone.
Ms Wells, the sippinmg of alcohol sounds like a good option but I need to keep a clear 'ead at the moment. Real life has gone a tad pear shape. BUT I'm trying to stay optimistic! :) TFxx
Hope things are ok with you m'dear and hope to see you back in TF land soon.
xx
Thanks Lane, not too bad m'dear (although I would gladly swop it for a plate of ham fritters or even a bucket of jellied eels!) Take care yourself TFxx
Tommo, wherefore art thou Tommo?
Hope all is well m'dear :o)
Clarkey, I'm a wee bit lost in a maze at the moment m'dear but I'm hoping I'll find my sense of direction soon :) Tommoxx
If you're in a maze - jump and down. Maybe you'll see a way out:-)
Seriously. Take care m'dear. x
Liking your thinking Lane :) I've been clipping the hedges with toenail scissors for the past month or so! I need a pogo stick methinks ;-) Thanks for popping by m'dear :) TFxx
