The Dish of the Day is .....

Now don't be thinking for one minute that I'm about to do a Nigella Lawson impersonation for you, if truth be told I'm more of your Fanny Craddock type of woman ;-)

This is the dish I use each morning for my lovely hot porridge! Yum! Yum! Not so yummy when it's lumpy though!  YUK!

This little dish now sits on my desk it's called "A Round Tuit" it has changed my life!

A Round Tuit

This is an indispensable item. It will help you to become a much more efficient worker. For years we have heard people say "I'll do this when I get round tuit" Now that you have  a round tuit of your very own many things that have been needed to be accomplished will be done.

Oh yes indeedy, I'll confess by habit I'm both idle and fickle and given the opportunity will avoid doing any BORING household chores until the last possible moment, hoping in vain that someone else will pick them up. But not anymore, starting this week I've scrawled on seven small pieces of red paper seven crappy chores that need to complete by yours truly by the end of the week. Each day I select one of the red folded pieces of paper from the Round Tuit dish and get on with that chore (happily). Then the best bit (a reward!) on green pieces of paper I've written seven activities I would love to do during the week :)

Today's crappy chore was to unblock the drain outside the kitchen window, with the aid of yellow marigolds, a peg for my nose and a swear box at the ready.

DONE. Boring (smelly) task completed. (Note: Do not drain grease and fat down sink TF!)

Today's fun activity (to write a blog post, only joking!) to book theatre tickets to see Camille O'Sullivan performing at The Royal Festival Hall on the 18th Dec  (should be good, her repertoire includes songs by the great American poet/singer Tom Waits. YIPEE!

DONE: Fun activity booked. Roll on the 18th.

I hope everyone is alive and kicking and trust nobody has got too tied up with Christmas chores yet, but instead is spending time writing and doing fun things to store in your memory bank :)

What a brilliant idea I LOVE it, and need to put in an order for A Round Tuit immediately - even if it does make me unblock my drains!

I think you should have 3 rewards to every task though, t'would be only fair :o)

(I'm not even thinking about the 'C' word yet!)

That's a good system you've got going!

Someone gave me one of those Round Tuit plates once but I've mislaid it and haven't got around to finding it yet:-)

Lane, it's even better now I've adopted Clarkey's idea! :) Hope you find your Round Tuit dish soon :) TFX

My Dad had a Round Tuit, personally I've never got Round Tuit. But I wish I had

How clever. I've never come across one of these before, but love it.

Rather you than me when it comes to cleaning out that drain, but I wouldn't mind changing places to go to the Royal Festival Hall on 18th.

What a clever idea. I could do with A Round Tuit. I expect I'd take the reward and forget the chore though.

As for the C word, I refuse to think about it yet. There's still plenty of time. Isn't there?

I got so excited when I saw your Round Tuit. They were for sale years ago and I wished for years that I had bought one. It is a family saying in our house 'when I get a Round Tuit' and we always mention the shop that was selling them - in Surrey. When we say this to other people they look blankly at us.
I will seek one out online - when I get around to it.....
