Time to Rethink!

Rethink! Rethink! Rethink!

This is not a line out of 1984 by George Orwell by the way, it's the name of a second hand book shop that I spent an idle hour or so in yesterday. The shop is dark and quiet (no piped music or screaming children) and full to the brim with musty old books. Oh, before I continue, I've changed by blog colour scheme to match the Tory Party! "Stand down Maggie......" The Beat, I think.

Blue = cool, calm and collective

Ok, where was I ? Ahhh, the bookshop. Buy one get one free offer yesterday. So I spent a few bob (£2.50 to be precise, last of the big time spenders me!) Purchased a few arty-farty books (boring, so I'll spare you the details). My free book was "Quips, Slurs and Gaffes" by Nigel Rees. By nature as you know, I tend to talk a load of twaddle and nonsense. So not to disappoint I give you my take on the word nonsense.

N for Novel.
A beginning, a muddle, and an end
Philip Larkin, English Poet.

O for Opera
Opera is where a guy gets stabbed in the back and instead of bleeding he sings
Ed Garner American Broadcaster

N for Neurotics
Neurotics build castles in the air. Psychotics live in them. Psychiatrists charge the rent
ANON Graffiti

S for S.E.X. (a taboo subject, tough get over it!)
He had ambitions, at one time, to become a sex manic, but he failed his practical
Les Dawson - Comedian

E for Eroticism (I know, sooo naughty but it made me laugh)

Erotic is when you do something sensitive and imaginative with a feather. Kinky is when you use the whole chicken

Elmore Leonard American Novelist

N for Nostalgia
Nostalgia is not what it use to be
ANON graffiti in NYC

S is for Speculation
There are two times in a man's life when he should not speculate: when he can't afford it, and when he can
Mark Twain Writer

E is for Experience
Experience is the comb that Nature gives us when we are bald
ANON Belgian Proverb

Methinks the word NONSENSE is rather remarkable - for it's has three N's, two E's, two S's and an O.

O' dear how interesting! ;-)

Sometimes, as I'm proving, you can have a muddle, a muddle, and a muddle.

I love the new look. Very smart.

Love the new look and NONSENSE, very clever indeed, especially, experience being the comb that nature gives us when we're bald. So true.

Love the quotes, TF - especially the novel one - can definitely relate to that one. x
