Somewhere over the rainbow......

I'll just like to say a BIG thank you for all of your kind, helpful, witty and encouraging comments on my last post. Alas, from time to time, (99.9% of the time I'm fine and dandy and normal, well as normal as TF can be!) I do have moments of mental anguish and utter despair which I mainly keep it in check by putting on my boxing gloves and knocking it out with a well aimed left hook on the nose finally killing it off with a good doze of black humour. Sometimes I manage to knock it out in the first round at other times it can take a bit longer. But as they say depression is all in the mind ;-) You'll be pleased to know that I won't bore you anymore on this subject - I could write a blinkin' encyclopedia on the topic. Depression is not all bad it's aftermath can bring moments of real clarity and creativity. It does bugger all for my spelling and grammar though - shame, but I guess not all battles can be won :-)

* * *

So, enough of all this black talk TF time to inject a wee bit of colour into this post. After sunshine there is rain which if we are really lucky can bring us the gift of a rainbow which is always uplifting methinks.

V-Violet: Violet is a combination of the colors red and blue. This is the highest and the subtlest specialization of light. This is because it is at the opposite end of the red color. This color is viewed as the completion as well as the beginning of the energy vibration. Different shades of violet have varied meanings. A deep purple symbolizes high spiritual attainment and a pale shade symbolizes love for humanity. The shade violet brings about a stabilizing factor to the frenzied shades of red.

I-Indigo: The color indigo means infinity. It also symbolizes wisdom and self-mastery. The indigo color is known to be the bridge between the finite and the infinite.

B-Blue: Blue is known as the color of divinity. This is the color of the open skies and the oceans. Using the color blue in our daily lives is said to bring about a peace and understanding. This color also helps to soothe and relax.

G-Green: The color green is formed with the merging of yellow and blue. Therefore, this is located in the center of the spectrum. The color green, symbolizes harmony, balance, growth and good health.

Y-Yellow: The color yellow is vibrant in itself being close to the color of the sun. This is known to be full of energy. Yellow also means something bright and happy and the usage of this color is know to bring about a proper clarity of thought in a persons mind and also improve the decision making skills.

O-Orange: The color, orange is a combination of red and yellow. This is not as fiery as red and but symbolizes a lot of energy and wisdom as well. Although dynamic, the color orange is more thoughtful and controlled. This color can increase the creativity of the person and bring about equilibrium in life.

R-Red: This is the color of energy and enthusiasm. This is also the color with the longest wavelength. Red symbolizes passion, energy, vibrancy and success.

This evening, I'm feeling green (not with sick or envy but with a sense of harmony and well being).

So which one of you is feeling passionate and venturing out to paint the town red?

I think that Blu, is in a black mood, having spent over six hours with a brand new printer..a gift from a friend..and it will not print properly....so I am seeing red with anger in a black mood and green with envy if your printer works.

Best wishes from Blu, got any pink spectacles?

I always knew I liked orange for a reason. Which is your favourite (aside from how it represents your mood)?

Glad the thumping of things has worked. Suffering depression is pants. You have endless support from this direction.

I'm always drawn to white, just my favourite colour.

And with all the snow

think I might have to learn how to copy that well aimed left hook of yours. ... I've been told that many creative people suffer from depression. At least I'm in good company. I'm very glad you are feeling better; Green's a nice place to be. My problem is I can never decide what colour best suits me. Think I should just mix it all up in a big ol pot and go with white, ... trouble is, that's so hard to keep clean...
Cheers!

Can I suggest a cup of tea dna slice of cake instead of punching yourself? It's not a well known treatment for depression but is less painful.

TF, I missed your last post :-( but glad to hear you are feeling better now. xx

Depression is a bummer. I wish it gave warning sometimes (maybe by waving a red flag) but it doesn't.

I'm feeling a bit brown. All the colours mixed up into one splodge. Hopefully one will emerge:-)

DJ bought me a mood ring for Christmas so we could monitor my mood swings. We found that when I was calm and happy it turned green and when I got angry it left a red mark on her forehead!

PS. can I promote stuff on here like Millsy? I have a half used tube of hemorrhoid cream up for grabs if anyone is interested. The applicator looks fairly clean!

It's only since starting to blog that I've dicovered how many fellow sufferes of depression there are out there. I'm just in the beginings of one of my 'episodes' which I hope will pass quicker than usual. When I get like this then charcoal grey best describes me. But I'm basically a bit of a pink girlie, and I love rich jewel colours ( my wedding dress was gold and burgandy).

I love all bright colours. I would like to be a rainbow person please.

There you are, TF. I was about to ask if you were still in the bath. You'd be looking a bit prune-like by now...

Anyway, delighted to hear you're feeling a bit better. As Lane said, depression is an absolute bummer and it ought to come with prior warning. Whether it's the time of year, I don't know, but a lot of friends are suffering at the moment. Remember, there's plenty of support here when you need it.

Oh, and I'd have to be a blue person. I just love blue. My favourite colour by far.
